PARKEN 2019 presented entire spectrum of products and services in the industry

6 Jun 2019

The PARKEN 2019 proved to be a significant platform for the parking industry. From 5 – 6 June 2019, the event showcased a broad product portfolio at the trade exhibition as well as presenting the latest expert knowledge at the conference of the Bundesverband PARKEN e.V. (German Parking Association).

“In 2019, the PARKEN proved that the event is the meeting place for the industry in Germany,” concludes Simone Pfisterer, Vice President at Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH. “1,602 trade visitors, 10.8% more than in 2017, took the opportunity to exchange information on the entire range of products and solutions for stationary traffic: from classic parking space equipment to Smart Mobility and cashless payment systems to charging infrastructure for electric vehicles.”

First-class business and networking platform

A total of 112 exhibiting companies highlighted the latest trends, developments and innovations in the planning, construction and operation of stationary traffic facilities and can look back on a successful event.

“The PARKEN enables us and our customers to attain a detailed overview of the market. It is also the starting point for meeting with existing contacts and finding new ones. In principle, this exhibition is obligatory for everyone in the parking industry. The PARKEN is the only relevant event for the German market,” summarizes Riccardo Rieder, Director Product Management at Designa.

The long-standing exhibitor Fleischhauer Datenträger GmbH celebrated its 150th company anniversary at the PARKEN 2019. “We are celebrating our 150th company anniversary as we should! All our customers, long-term partners and the whole of the PARKEN community are gathered at this event. It is the partnership-based cooperation with our customers that makes our success possible,“ explained Philipp Halbach, Managing Director at Fleischhauer Datenträger GmbH.

Conference provided top-class knowledge exchange

The conference achieved an excellent result with 233 participants. Renowned speakers provided exclusive insights into highly relevant industry topics. In addition to presentations on the trend topics of digitization and e-mobility, this year's program offered an interactive lecture on the subject of data security, which made it possible to experience the challenges faced by companies in this area through live hacking. The highly relevant topic of data exchange was addressed in a lecture on the integration of intelligent transport systems.

"Together with the conference, the only exhibition for parking in the German-speaking region offers an optimal mix of product presentations and knowledge transfer and provides an important forum for exchanging experiences. The range of topics presented by experts enables participants to be inspired for their own everyday work," explains Elisabeth Herles, Managing Director of the "Bundesverband Parken e.V.".

Automated Valet Parking at the PARKEN

This year, the highly relevant topic of Automated Valet Parking was given its own platform. The German Association of the Automotive Industry (Verband der Automobilindustrie e.V.) (VDA), in cooperation with renowned companies from the automotive and technology sectors, presented the current status quo as well as future visions for driverless parking. Using pilot videos and presentations as well as personal discussions, interested visitors were able to explore the topic, discuss it with the exhibitors and initiate new cooperations.
